The Team

Seb Wolf

The Shark Monitor is led by Sebastyen Wolf, Editor-in-Chief.

Sebastyen brings a background in research, data analysis, and entrepreneurial advisory work to the publication. Over the past two decades, he has worked closely with founders, early-stage teams, and investors across different industries, from healthcare to e-products to evaluate viability, business strategy, and market positioning.

His analytical approach is shaped by experience across technical fields, biotech and pharma consulting, and hands-on work supporting small entrepreneurs preparing for investor pitches.

Sebastyen’s interest in entrepreneurship started when he was in elementary school, where he created his first business by selling horoscopes mini-books to his classmates. The business didn’t scale, and he got in trouble with the teacher, but that only heightened his interest in business and entrepreneurship.

Seb’s interest further sharpened during the early seasons of Shark Tank, where the combination of strategy, valuation, negotiation, and execution sparked a long-term fascination with how businesses grow—or fail to.

His work today focuses on breaking down the mechanics and data behind those outcomes to help readers understand the practical realities behind each pitch.

Editorial Role

As Editor-in-Chief, Sebastyen oversees:

  • Deal and valuation analysis
  • Business fundamentals and strategy breakdowns
  • Accuracy, sourcing, and fact-checking
  • Editorial integrity and transparency

Every article published at The Shark Monitor follows a clear analytical framework: separating on-air entertainment from financial reality, contextualizing claims with publicly available data, and translating business concepts into clear, accessible insights.

Why We Do This

Entrepreneurship is rarely linear. Founders encounter setbacks, pressure, ambiguity, and risk long before success becomes visible. Shark Tank offers a unique lens into those challenges, and The Shark Monitor exists to help readers interpret the lessons hidden behind the pitch.

If you have feedback, corrections, or suggestions, we’d love to hear from you.
