RetrievAir Lets Big Dogs Fly Cabin-Class
Benton Miller pitched his pet airline on Shark Tank and walked away with $776,000 from guest shark Alexis Ohanian for 15% equity. Business Insider reports RetrievAir uses chartered 30-seater jets where dogs and cats of any size ride in the cabin with owners, skipping cargo holds. Average fares hit $775 per seat, with shorter trips like New York to DC at $300 and longer ones like New York to LA over $3,000 one-way.
Launched in May, the company pulled in over $500,000 in sales right after bookings opened. Dogs over 40 pounds get their own paid seat next to owners, and flights stop every two hours for bathroom breaks. Miller plans six new US cities in 2026, plus international routes later. Load factors aren’t always at the 50% breakeven yet, but some routes like New York to Florida sell out.
